Still no job.

Well, I guess I have an appointment next Wednesday to redo my resume. I will make a functional one instead of a chronological one. I was told that because my experience is so old that nobody will even look at me. Hopefully, this new resume will be a good one and someone will hire me. It probably won't be a school system as they just aren't hiring anyone.

Kelvin leaves this Tuesday morning for some meeting in Moose Jaw for three days. It happens to be his birthday so I guess I'll have to figure out something to do for it this weekend instead.

I have still been doing my exercising. I'm up to doing a 20 minute power walk now. I have no idea how far that is cuz I've never clocked it. I would really like to get myself an elliptical trainer as I really like the exercise but not so much enjoying the incredible wind that we have been having. Once the snow flies, I won't be able to do anything outside anyway cuz it's just too slippery when snow removal isn't part of Cold Lakes regime.

Joanne is feeling much better. She has a terrific appetite and says she gaining some weight back. That's great for her and I'm so happy!! Her mom is still here from Nova Scotia and we are all trying to talk her into staying for Christmas. It would be so nice for her to be here and have Joanne's niece from Calgary come up here to Cold Lake with her kids to spend some time. I hope it all works out this way.

Well, that's it for this time, until next time.....

Hey Shari!

Sorry to hear about the job situation. Hopefully the new resume style will help! I'm surprised that it's taking so long - most intelligent employers will take a mom whose kids are in school over some young chick, simply because she's GOT to have the work ethic to make it day to day. KWIM?

A 20-minute power walk *could* be a good mile to mile and a half, depending on how 'powerful' your walking is! :) That's pretty smokin' good! Way to burn up your sneakers!! We've been having the wind, too, which is nasty, but probably not as bad as you - I've always had trouble with the wind - pressure changes and headaches. Hopefully you can find something that works for the winter!!

Hey Melissa, yeah the job thing is VERY disheartening to say the least. There are so many jobs here in Cold Lake to be had but they are almost all in retail which would be foolish for me to get because they need people for evenings and weekends. That would mean time away from my family when they are all home. Not something that I want.

I have trouble with the wind/pressure changed and headaches too and I've been having some hum dingers lately. It sure puts a damper on doing the power walk when I feel like garbage but I'll be back at it when I feel better.
